What's haiku?

@ Ani - Thanks for the comment!

Well Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry of 3 lines with 5-7-5 syllables.

haiku is more than the three lines and syllables. the best ones capture a moment of satori, revelation, as when the mist drifts apart to reveal for a split-second a sunlit peak in the himalayas. it places the moment in the larger context of the rolling seasons, the eternal flow of life. it is much more than that. i chanced to come across your blog and found some of the pieces very good. keep writing. and read basho.
